Connect WordPress and stay in control of publishing.

The WordPress integration connects articles in Klusio to posts on your website. Before starting, check access, publication settings and how content appears in your theme. This guide explains the setup and the checks that matter.

Publish articles and update connected content

Klusio uses the WordPress REST API to publish posts. It stores the relationship between the Klusio article and the WordPress post so that later supported updates reach the correct item. A successful connection does not, on its own, prove that every publication step is complete.

Posts
The supported post route handles the title, content and publication status. Check whether the intended result is a draft or a public article before starting.
Images and metadata
Images are handled in a separate step. SEO titles and descriptions use the Rank Math integration. Other SEO plugins and custom fields need to be checked for your site.
Publication status
A post ID means that WordPress has an item on record. Also check its status, final URL and whether the article is publicly readable.

Give the connection the access it needs

Use the secure connection settings in your account. The standard WordPress route uses a username and a separate application password over HTTPS. Keep passwords out of articles, email briefs and screenshots.

The correct website
Check the site URL and ensure that its REST API is reachable by the authorised connection. A firewall can block a request; do not disable security without investigating the specific cause.
Appropriate permissions
The connected user must be able to manage the intended posts and media. Ask your website administrator to determine the permissions needed for that work.
Content and appearance
Review a test draft in your own theme. Check headings, images, links and the way the template displays the article before enabling recurring publication.

Find the step that needs attention

A connection error, missing publishing permissions and a failed metadata update have different causes. Ask your administrator to examine the error and its time before submitting the article again. Repeated publication attempts can create duplicates.

Access failed
Check the website, username and whether the application password is still valid. Revoke access that is no longer needed when you disconnect the site.
The article is still a draft
Check the agreed workflow and status. A draft is intended for review and does not have to be public yet.
The article is live, but another step is missing
An image or an SEO field can fail separately. Investigate that step without automatically creating a second article.

Questions and answers

Do I need to share my normal WordPress password?

Use the secure connection settings and a separate application password for the standard route. Never share your normal login password in article fields or conversations.

Will the integration change my WordPress theme?

The connection covers supported content and publishing operations. Connecting it does not authorise changes to your theme, hosting or server settings.

Does it work with every SEO plugin?

SEO titles and descriptions use Rank Math. Other plugins are assessed for each site; support depends on the plugin, permissions and configuration.

Can it edit Elementor or Bricks pages?

Editing suitable page-builder content is a separate beta feature. It requires the additional Klusio plugin, compatibility checks and the appropriate permission. Not every widget or shared template can be changed automatically.

Where can I see the results of the articles?

Search Console provides Google impressions and clicks through a separate connection. Website visits and configured contact actions require GA4 or lead measurement. A published post is not evidence of a new customer.
