AI competitor analysis
Your customer is choosing a provider. Who does AI mention?
An employer looks for a recruitment agency. A business owner needs an accountant. AMI shows which businesses appear for questions relevant to your offer, alongside the original answer and available sources.
Start with the questions that matter to your business
A national executive-search firm competes in a different market from a sales-recruitment specialist in Utrecht. Define the service, audience and working area first. That determines which questions and providers belong in the comparison.
- Define the buyer question
- Include questions where someone is choosing a provider or comparing services. Keep general information questions identifiable as a different group.
- Identify the recurring names
- Compare mentions by question, AI system and period. A trade platform can be an important source without being a business competitor. Keep those roles separate.
- Open the supporting source
- Read the original answer and inspect the available source. Look for a selection criterion, experience or service detail that helps the customer choose.
A fictional recruitment example
Example question: “Which recruitment agency can help us hire suitable account managers?” In this invented answer, Bureau Noord is cited for a case explaining which sales experience mattered to an employer. The illustrative source is bureau-noord.example/accountmanagers-werven; it is not a live customer result.
- What do we observe?
- The competitor is mentioned and a case is cited. This does not yet establish that the case caused the mention.
- What should we check?
- Compare your own sales-recruitment page. Can an employer understand the experience required, how you assess it and when your agency is a suitable choice?
- What could improve the page?
- Add an approved real-world example if it clarifies that decision. Ask which experience proved more important than the number of years on a CV.
- What do we follow afterwards?
- Record the change and measure the same questions again. Keep the question, system and comparison periods consistent.
Give the team a specific next step
The useful follow-up in this example is to examine whether the existing service page explains candidate selection clearly enough. It is not an instruction to copy a competitor or create another page regardless of existing coverage.

Questions and answers
Is a frequently mentioned competitor necessarily the market leader?
No. You are comparing visibility within the tracked questions and measurement setup. This alone says nothing about revenue, market share or service quality.
How is this different from competitor analysis for Google?
Google research compares queries, positions and pages. AI research also examines the answer text, named businesses and cited sources. Klusio offers broader competitor research covering both Google and AI.
Do I need AMI to see competitors?
Standard AI visibility also shows competitors and sources for tracked questions. AMI adds management by market and domain, brand facts, implementation briefs and planned follow-up measurements.
Can Klusio implement an opportunity?
Your team can use the brief. With an active Growth Engine, suitable opportunities can be considered alongside other work. Publishing follows your settings, quality checks, permissions and website connection.
