Google Ads management
Manage Google Ads with measurement you can check.
Klusio checks the available conversion tracking, brings campaign figures and changes together, and prepares recommendations with their source and period. You decide which changes to apply. Your Google Ads account and advertising budget remain yours.

What Klusio checks first
The overview separates completed checks from missing, outdated or unavailable data. A clean status is useful only when the relevant checks actually ran. The following bookkeeping-company example is fictional; it is not a customer result.
| Check | Example finding |
|---|---|
| Enquiry measurement | Two issues need attention. |
| Search terms | Four queries have cost money without a recorded enquiry; inspect their relevance and the tracking. |
| Service area | Both campaigns have a configured area. |
| Duplicate keywords | No keyword appears in more than one group. |
| Google’s automatic changes | Two recommendation types are allowed; nine changes were recorded in thirty days. |
| Spend distribution | Checked; the breakdown is available in Overview. |
Agree who handles each part
The cockpit connects investigation with decisions. It does not transfer responsibility for your advertising account to an unattended service. If you already work with an agency, use the same records to discuss its work.
- Measurement and investigation
- Klusio retrieves available campaign figures, conversion settings and changes. You confirm what counts as a valuable enquiry; a phone-number click is not a completed sales call.
- Review and implementation
- Inspect the suggested action and its evidence. New campaigns are prepared on pause. Check the keywords, text, area, budget and landing page before activation.
- Spend and service costs
- Pay media spend to Google. Your Klusio plan covers the available product features. Agree who handles the website, creative material and response to enquiries.
- Your preferred working arrangement
- Keep decisions in-house, use the cockpit alongside an agency, or discuss a separately agreed management service. Full delegation needs an explicit scope.
The landing page must deliver the advertisement’s promise
The service, area and next step should match the ad. Check the mobile layout, the form, the successful-submission signal and the team’s ability to respond. Use real project examples and authorised customer comments.
Keep advertising and organic evidence separate. NieuwHuis Makelaardij recorded 455 organic Google clicks from 5 July to 2 October 2026, compared with 136 in the same ninety-day period of 2025, a rounded increase of 235%. Source: Google Search Console, NieuwHuis case. These are neither Google Ads results nor customer counts.
First: does Google count the right enquiries?
The measurement check runs before the other recommendations. In Klusio’s recorded check of all connected advertising accounts on 25 September 2026, two out of three accounts had an issue blocking measurement. This is a historical observation of that group, not a benchmark for all advertisers.
- A meaningful conversion goal
- Check whether the primary action represents the intended enquiry. Video views or page visits should not be confused with enquiries.
- A working destination or event
- A conversion configured for a non-existent thank-you page cannot record the intended page load.
- Appropriate counting
- For lead generation, check that repeat completions from the same ad interaction do not inflate the intended lead count.
- Phone measurement
- Check whether phone clicks are recorded and whether the ad’s number appears on the website. Distinguish a click from a connected or qualified call.
- Attribution and consent
- Review auto-tagging and consent handling. Some genuine enquiries may not be attributable.
- Spend without measured enquiries
- Investigate tracking, search intent, page experience and follow-up. Zero measured enquiries alone does not identify the cause.
What a measurement warning means
Fictional example: a bookkeeping company has two search campaigns. Its primary “Quotation requested” goal points to /bedankt-offerte/, which returns a 404. Replace or correct the signal so it measures a genuine successful request; review which action should remain primary.
A second warning says “Contact form” counts every completion. Check the lead-counting setting and remove unintended duplicate events. In this example, auto-tagging and phone-click tracking are enabled, and the advertised phone number is on the site. Source represented: Google Ads conversion actions, call assets, the preceding thirty days of metrics and the homepage, checked on 24 September 2026. All example values are fictional.
See who changed your account
The Changes tab retrieves Google Ads change history every four hours and shows whether a change came from you or your team, Klusio, or Google’s auto-apply settings. It can identify the website, mobile app, Ads Editor, rule or script used.
In the thirty days ending 25 September 2026, Google’s auto-apply feature made changes in half of Klusio’s connected advertising accounts, averaging 29 in the affected accounts. Source: the recorded Google Ads change-history review, without customer names. Inspect the actual history in your account before drawing conclusions.
| When | What changed | Actor and context |
|---|---|---|
| 21 September, 14:02 | Search Partners enabled for “Vacancies Utrecht”. | Google, automatically applied. Example subsequent Search Partner spend: €38.40, 51 clicks and no measured enquiries, 21–24 September. |
| 19 September, 09:15 | “Temporary work” average daily budget increased from €20 to €25. | You, through the Google Ads website. |
| 16 September, 11:40 | Three negative keywords added to “Logistics”. | Klusio, after your approval. |
Recommendations include the evidence for the decision
Each action includes its data source, date range and retrieval date. Where implementation is supported, the button applies only after your action and confirmation. Higher-priority issues come first; duplicate advice is removed.
- Review the actual search terms
- The preceding fourteen days can reveal irrelevant queries. Exclude unsuitable intent carefully; lack of a quick conversion is not enough to block a potentially relevant customer.
- Check coverage and overlap
- Review missing service areas, repeated keywords across groups and networks using spend without measured enquiries.
- Move budget only with adequate evidence
- Comparison needs meaningful measured outcomes, enough data and allowance for conversion delays.
- Keep the reason visible
- Read the period and metric behind the recommendation rather than treating a warning as proof of poor performance.
Read a recommendation before acting
Fictional estate-agency example: a valuation campaign spent €212.40 on 96 clicks with no measured enquiries from 8 to 14 September 2026, read on 15 September. First verify enquiry tracking. If it is reliable, investigate the searches and landing page and decide whether a pause is justified.
A separate fictional finding contains four queries costing €46.20 over fourteen days. Inspect the wording of each before adding exclusions. The figures explain the proposed investigation; they do not prove that every click was irrelevant. Source represented: Google Ads campaign and search-term reporting.
Prepare a complete search campaign, then review it on pause
Klusio can prepare the area, maximum CPC where supported by the bidding strategy, schedule, phone asset, keywords, advertisements and pinned headlines. It reads the critical area and CPC settings back from Google. If a step affecting cost or reach fails, the campaign stays paused with the reason shown.
| Setting | Example result |
|---|---|
| Average daily budget | €25. |
| Campaign state | Created and paused. |
| Maximum CPC | €2.50 with Maximise Clicks, read back from Google. |
| Location | Amersfoort and a 20 km radius, read back. |
| Schedule | Monday–Friday, 08:00–18:00. |
| Phone asset | An existing asset with the same number reused. |
| Keywords and headlines | Keywords added; headline positions one and two pinned. |
| Additional assets | Four sitelinks added. |
The monthly report needs a complete month
The monthly reporting job runs on the second day of the month and reports the preceding month only after every required day has been retrieved. Missing days are fetched first. The report puts tracking issues ahead of any cost-per-enquiry interpretation.
It describes spend, activity, useful keywords and the comparison with the previous complete month. Sources and periods accompany the figures. A partial retrieval is not presented as a full month’s performance.
- 1. The month ends
- Identify the complete reporting period.
- 2. Check coverage
- Retrieve missing days before reporting.
- 3. Check measurement
- Explain tracking problems before interpreting performance.
- 4. Send the complete report
- Send when the required data is available, rather than silently comparing a partial month.
See where the money went
Overview separates the available networks and campaign figures. Budget shows the average daily budgets of active campaigns, with an explicit action to change them. Paused and ended campaigns are separated; networks with neither spend nor clicks do not clutter the distribution.
For most campaigns using an average daily budget, Google can bill up to twice that amount on a day and normally up to 30.4 times it over a full month with an unchanged budget. A later start or a budget change affects the limit. Check the account’s budget report; an average daily budget is not a hard total for a short campaign.
| Network | Share of spend | Recorded enquiries |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search | 71% | 14 |
| Search Partners | 18% | 1 |
| Display Network | 11% | 0 |
What you do and what Klusio does
The control panels are currently in Dutch. This page explains their work in English; a demo can walk through your actual setup.
| You | Klusio |
|---|---|
| Connect and choose your Google Ads account. | Retrieve daily figures and the regular change history. |
| Resolve measurement issues, with your web developer where needed. | Check measurement and show the issues with instructions. |
| Review and confirm the actions you want applied. | Prepare recommendations with source, period and retrieval date. |
| Check a new campaign before activating it. | Prepare it on pause and verify critical settings. |
| Pay advertising spend directly to Google. | Prepare reporting after the required month is complete. |
Compare paid and organic search carefully
Where Klusio measures an organic position for an advertising keyword, the Keywords tab can show it alongside paid activity. A strong organic position may prompt the Growth Engine to investigate overlap. It does not automatically make advertising wasteful: intent, incrementality and commercial results still matter.
A strategically important question can become work on an existing page or a useful new article. Paid spend, organic positions and enquiries keep their own source and reporting period.
Account ownership and product limits
Your account remains in your name with full access. You can disconnect Klusio, and campaigns it created stay in Google Ads. Advertising spend never becomes part of the Klusio subscription.
- No unattended budget or bid changes
- An implementation action requires your approval.
- No real-time reporting promise
- The scheduled daily retrieval is 05:45; changes are checked every four hours and measurement at 04:00. Google can process conversions later. The displayed retrieval time and coverage matter.
- No competitor budget access
- Google does not expose another advertiser’s actual spend for this cockpit to report.
- Performance Max has a different view
- Klusio’s current cockpit uses available campaign and network metrics and search categories; do not expect its per-query Search-campaign controls for Performance Max.
- No advance payment of media spend
- Your payment arrangement is directly with Google.
Costs and next steps
After a successful Google Ads connection, the advertising cockpit is included from Groei Pro at €399 per month excluding VAT. Advertising spend is paid separately to Google. Discuss personal campaign management separately; the cockpit alone is not a fully managed advertising service.
Questions and answers
Who pays the advertising budget?
You pay Google directly. Media spend is separate from the Klusio subscription; the cockpit shows its available results and cost breakdown.
Does Klusio change my Google Ads account by itself?
No. Budget, bid and campaign changes require your action and confirmation. A new campaign is prepared on pause for you to inspect and activate.
Does the Google Ads account stay mine?
Yes. You retain ownership and access. The authorised connection has read and write permissions for the supported checks and approved actions, and you can disconnect it.
What does the advertising cockpit cost?
After a successful Google Ads connection, the advertising cockpit is included from Groei Pro at €399 per month excluding VAT. Advertising spend is paid separately to Google. Discuss personal campaign management separately; the cockpit alone is not a fully managed advertising service.
How often are the figures updated?
The scheduled figures retrieval is daily at 05:45, the change-history check every four hours and the tracking check at 04:00. Inspect the displayed coverage and retrieval time. Delayed conversions can alter recent results.
Does it work with Performance Max?
The cockpit can show available cost, click, enquiry and network data. Its Performance Max view uses search categories, rather than the per-query controls used for Search campaigns.
How does this differ from hiring a Google Ads agency?
An agency’s responsibilities depend on your agreement. Klusio’s cockpit prepares measurement checks, recommendations and campaigns while you retain the decisions. You can also use it alongside an agency.
