Keyword rank tracking
Keyword rank tracking with the search results in context.
Track your Google keyword rankings and compare them with your Search Console data. Follow position changes, search-result features, overlapping pages and seasonal demand. Relevant findings become opportunities for the Growth Engine.
- Positions
- Point-in-time Google rankings alongside Search Console averages.
- Search-result features
- AI Overviews, maps, snippets, questions, videos and other result types.
- Overlapping pages
- See which of your own pages appear for the same query.
- Seasonality
- Use monthly demand estimates to put a rise or decline in context.
Keep measured positions and averages separate
Klusio checks ordinary Google results in the Netherlands on desktop, up to position 100. Your most important 100 keywords are checked every seven days; the rest every thirty days. New or refreshed pages trigger an extra check, and you can request a measurement yourself.
- Position history
- View three, six or twelve months and lists of gains and declines over thirty or ninety days.
- Position groups
- Filter the top 3, 10, 20, 50 and 100, terms outside the top 100 and terms still awaiting measurement. Export each list as CSV.
- The position column
- It uses the Search Console average over 28 days where available. Otherwise it shows the latest Klusio measurement, marked with an asterisk.
- Source and date
- The measurement and Search Console average are labelled separately. They are not blended into a single figure.
See what appears around the ordinary results
Each measurement records supported first-page result types, including AI Overviews, map listings, featured snippets, related questions, videos and ads. Klusio recognises twenty types and indicates whether your domain appears.
- Filter by feature
- Find keywords showing a particular result type and those where your domain is included.
- AI sources
- For an AI Overview, Klusio checks the sources shown with the answer. For other features it checks whether your domain occurs.
- Open a keyword
- See the top 100 by measurement, your page and the current top five, with CSV export.
- Consider what content can achieve
- A results page dominated by formats an article cannot directly win, such as ads, affects the assessment of a new article.
Investigate competing pages on your own site
Search Console can show several URLs appearing for one query. That is a finding to assess, not automatic proof of a problem. Two prominent results or multiple results for your company name can be entirely appropriate.
- Entry threshold
- The list uses queries with at least 50 impressions, where at least two pages each receive 15% or more of the impressions and at least ten impressions.
- Priority indication
- A high-severity flag uses an estimate of at least 100 missed impressions per thirty days and a page in the top twenty. This is a modelled indication, not a measured loss of customers.
- Recommendations
- Consider combining pages, choosing a main page or leaving them as they are. A change in the URL returned by rank tracking is also shown.
- Periods and action
- Compare four weeks, three months or six months and export CSV. Combining Klusio articles requires approval. Relevant links to a chosen main page can become link opportunities.
Put demand in its seasonal context
For each keyword, the previous twelve months of estimated Google Ads search volume help distinguish seasonal changes from changes in your website’s performance. Volumes are rounded estimates, not visits to your site.
- Prepare for a coming peak
- The seasonal view highlights up to four keywords expected to peak within two months where your page is currently between positions four and thirty.
- Inform topic selection
- The Growth Engine considers demand in the coming months when weighing a new article.
- An observed market example
- Estimated searches for “makelaar” were 60,500 in April 2026 and 18,100 in December 2025. Source: Google Ads search-volume estimates for September 2025–August 2026, retrieved 24 September 2026. This seasonal pattern alone does not explain a particular site’s traffic.
Turn measurements into proposals with a reason
After a position check, relevant findings enter the Growth Engine and are weighed against other work. Your settings and approval choices govern implementation.
- Improve the answer
- A page between positions four and twenty may have room to answer the query better.
- Review the search snippet
- A top-ten page with fewer clicks than expected can warrant a title and description review.
- Investigate a featured answer
- A competitor’s snippet or AI Overview citation can be an opportunity when your page is already relevant and visible.
- Connect and speed up pages
- An article may support a rising service page with a link. A slow mobile page that is gaining visibility may need technical attention.
- Review paid and organic activity together
- A top-three ordinary result alongside paid clicks on the same term warrants investigation, not an automatic decision to stop advertising.
- Submit a query yourself
- Send a query where your site already appears to the Growth Engine for investigation.
Read actual measurements with their limits
Google results vary by place, device, person and time. Klusio’s rank tracking is a snapshot for the Netherlands on desktop. Search Console averages different impressions and has a processing delay. Neither dataset guarantees a fixed position or inclusion in an AI answer.
- Choice Kozijnen
- Search Console monthly average for “kozijnen alphen aan den rijn”: position 25 to 2.8, February–September 2026, retrieved 16 September 2026. The final month was therefore still in progress.
- NieuwHuis Makelaardij
- Position one for “makelaar Almere Duin” in the customer’s Search Console record for 17 January–11 April 2026. This is a historical result, not a promise of a current position.
- Klusio’s own website
- “leadgeneratie chatbot voor mkb” moved from position seven to three in Google Netherlands desktop measurements from 16 July to 21 September 2026.
- Result types in Klusio’s tracked set
- An AI Overview appeared for 355 of 396 tracked keywords, map listings for 19 and related-question results for six. Source: latest Netherlands desktop measurement per keyword between 14 August and 24 September 2026. This is Klusio’s selected set, not all Google searches.

Search volume for “makelaar” across the year
Google Ads monthly estimates, September 2025–August 2026, retrieved 24 September 2026. They show estimated searches in the market, not visits to one website. A seasonal comparison helps you investigate a change; it does not prove its cause.

Example: two pages appearing for one query
Fictional recruitment business: 610 impressions for “uitzendbureau logistiek” over three months. The two URLs below illustrate how the account shows a distribution, not an actual customer result. Review the search intent before choosing /logistiek/ as the main page or adding a link from the article. A stored target alone does not establish which page should rank.
| Page | Impressions | Average position |
|---|---|---|
| /logistiek/ | 402 | 18.4 |
| /blog/werken-in-de-logistiek/ | 208 | 41.2 |

Illustrative example
Illustrative example: a recruitment company has a logistics service page and a general article about working in logistics appearing for the same commercial query. Review what the searcher wants before choosing a main page. If the service page is the right destination, an appropriate link from the article can make that route clearer. The example does not establish a guaranteed ranking improvement.
Questions and answers
How is this different from Search Console?
Search Console reports queries where your site appeared and the average position across those impressions. Klusio also records point-in-time positions, surrounding result types and competing pages, including keywords where your site has not yet appeared.
How often are positions checked?
The most important 100 keywords every seven days and the rest every thirty days, with additional checks after new or updated content and when requested. Measurements cover ordinary Google results in the Netherlands on desktop, up to position 100.
Is keyword cannibalisation always a problem?
No. Several pages appearing for one query can be appropriate, especially for your brand or when both rank prominently. The intent and actual distribution need to be examined.
Where do search volumes come from?
Google Ads estimates, rounded by month over the previous twelve months. They estimate searches, not the visits your website will receive.
Can I add or remove keywords?
Yes. You manage the tracked terms. Klusio can suggest relevant terms from competitors’ top-ten results; you decide whether to add them.
