Sources in AI answers
Look beyond the mention. Inspect the source.
An AI answer may cite a directory, comparison, trade article or case study. Klusio records the available sources for your tracked questions so you can investigate why a website is relevant and whether there is a useful next step.
A cited source is a clue, not a guaranteed route into the answer
AI platforms can combine information from several sources. Some answers include links; others do not. Answers and citations can also be incomplete or wrong. Inspect the recorded answer, its date and its sources together.
A directory that appears in a relevant answer may be worth investigating. Inclusion in that directory does not guarantee that your company will appear in a later answer, and a citation does not prove that every sentence was taken from that page.
What Klusio records
Use a defined set of customer questions and inspect changes across comparable measurements.
- Your company’s mentions
- Which tracked question and platform produced a mention, with the available answer and measurement date.
- Other companies
- Which competitors were named, including answers in which your own business was absent.
- Visible source links
- Which websites were cited and how often they appeared within the measured set.
- Changes over time
- Differences between comparable rounds, with their question and platform coverage.
Turn a source into a feasible next step
A source that appears repeatedly deserves investigation, but frequency is only one consideration. Check its topic, audience, editorial rules and whether it has a real route for inclusion.
For example, a trade directory might accept an accurate profile and a specialist publication might welcome a relevant project explanation. A retailer, forum or large publisher may have no suitable route for your business. Klusio weighs those differences before treating the source as an outreach target.
Counts such as nine, six or one appearance only make sense with the measured question set and period. They should not be presented as a measure of all answers on the internet.
Investigate by topic, not only by brand
Set the services or subjects you want to be known for. Review the companies appearing when your business is absent from those questions. A competitor appearing in eight measured answers, for example, is an observation within that sample—not proof that it dominates the whole market.
Separate topics with different customer needs. A company may be visible for one service and absent for another, which can be more useful than a single overall percentage.
Strengthen the information on your own website too
Answer the customer’s question, explain your actual work and make important facts easy to verify. Relevant projects, reviews and your own data can make a page more useful to a reader than another unsupported description of your expertise.
These are content improvements you can assess in their own right. They are not a formula that guarantees an AI citation.

Questions and answers
Which AI platforms are measured?
Supported measurements include ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI. Your plan, selected questions and available provider results determine the actual coverage shown in the account.
Can I add questions?
Yes. Add relevant customer questions to the tracked set. They can be included in a subsequent scheduled measurement round; changing the question set also changes what can be compared.
Why does a competitor appear when I do not?
The answer alone does not establish the cause. Inspect the question, competitor description and cited sources, then compare the relevant information about your business. Do not infer a fixed ranking rule from one answer.
